The Gastonia Lions Club serves their community by providing high school scholarships and members volunteer on a regular basis at the BackPack Weekend Food Program. More than 1.5 million meals have been distributed to students in the Gaston County School System since its beginnings in 2011. The club also provides financial assistance when requested to qualified individuals living in their community that require eye exams, eyeglasses, or specialized equipment to improve vision. The Lions of Mount Holly Lions Club are always ready to serve the citizens of Gaston County. Club members are available to volunteer for community-based programs addressing diabetes, childhood cancer, vision screenings, natural disaster aid, and assisting the hunger and shelter needs of the less fortunate.
