
The Etowah Lions Club are involved in several unique and consistent service projects including blood drives, a backpack program, music on the patio and a weekly farmers market. Club members concentrate on youth vision screening in the elementary Schools in Henderson County to catch eyesight issues that could grow worse as a child becomes older. The club provides citizenship and scholarships annually for local high school seniors and supports the youth baseball program. The money that the Hendersonville Lions Club raises is used to help improve the quality of life for those who might not otherwise be able to afford much-needed services such as vision and hearing exams, eyeglasses and transportation. In addition to sight conservation activities, club members also support other local causes like their Boys and Girls club, youth baseball, Future Leaders Program, placing a hearing dog with a local deaf resident, numerous food bank activities, and services for the blind. The club also provides scholarships for local high school seniors. If you live in the Hendersonville community, this club will welcome you as a volunteer!

Mills River Lions Club continues to work with other local Lions clubs to vision screen schools in Henderson and Haywood counties with over 10,000 students screened each year. Club members donate gift baskets and gift cards to Mills River Elementary School for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Mills River Lions Club members are working with Mills River Park to Put ADA approved equipment and signs in the town park. Fundraising for the club includes the annual Fiber Fair parking and the money raised is used in support of their community. Club members also sell brooms at convenient stores in Mills River and Horse Shoe. If you live in the Mills River community, this club will welcome you as a volunteer!
