Lion Kathy hails from Massachusetts and that is where she first got interested in Lions. Her husband George was involved in the Ipswich (MA) Lions Club and when he became President, he opened the club up to women and Kathy joined. She served as Club Secretary and also President of the District 33N Visual Aids Foundation which lends assistive equipment to the visually impaired. Lion Kathy was awarded the Charles G. Kostro Fellowship in 2009 for her work on the Visual Aids Foundation.
Lion Kathy has resided in North Carolina since 2010. She joined the Etowah Lions Club in 2018. She has served as President, Secretary, Service Activities Chair, Etowah Lions Services Inc.
Board Member and Market Manager for the Etowah Lions Farmers Market.
Lion Kathy also serves on the McCune Board and has served as Zone Chair for Zones 2 and 4.
Her Lions awards include: Progressive Melvin Jones; William L. Woodard Partner in Service 2020: North Carolina Lions Ambassador 2022; International President’s Certificate of Appreciation 2022-2023; and Etowah Lion of the Year 2018-2019.
Kathy has two married sons and her ever faithful four-legged companion, Jake.
