District 31L Lions Clubs of WNC

Lion Jason Foster, 2nd Vice District Governor

Lion Jason McNeill Foster, currently serving as the 2nd Vice District Governor of District 31 L, exemplifies the highest ideals of Lionism through his leadership, service, and unwavering commitment to humanitarian values. Since joining Lions Clubs International in 2012, he has distinguished himself as a dedicated servant leader whose actions consistently reflect compassion, integrity, and a deep devotion to helping others.

Lion Foster’s leadership style is defined by strong communication, empathy, and vision. He leads by example, empowering those around him, fostering collaboration, and inspiring fellow Lions to pursue shared goals with enthusiasm and purpose. His ability to make sound decisions, build trust, and spark innovation has made him an invaluable asset to his club, his district, and the communities he serves. These qualities are the hallmarks of an effective district leader and have earned him widespread respect throughout District 31 L.

Now in his fifth term as president of the Gastonia Lions Club, Lion Foster has significantly strengthened the club’s visibility and impact. Under his leadership, the club has experienced renewed unity, increased engagement, and a heightened presence within the community. His dedication to cultivating a strong, service driven club culture continues to shape Gastonia Lions into a model of excellence.

At the district level, Lion Foster has served as a region chairperson and zone chairperson, roles that further demonstrated his readiness to embrace greater responsibility within Lions Clubs International. His steady leadership, thoughtful guidance, and commitment to servant leadership have prepared him well for his current role as 2nd Vice District Governor.

Beyond his official titles, Lion Foster is a humanitarian in the truest sense. For 10 years, he has volunteered at the North Carolina Lions VIP Fishing Tournament, where he is known for his tireless efforts to uplift and support individuals who are visually impaired. His compassion, objectivity, and selfless dedication have earned him a reputation as someone who not only serves but inspires others to serve as well.

In September 2024, Lion Foster faced one of the greatest challenges of his life when he survived a near fatal accident that left him severely injured. The long road to recovery brought significant physical and financial hardships, yet he met these obstacles with extraordinary resilience and determination. He successfully restarted his landscaping business and launched a new e commerce venture to help offset the financial losses incurred during his recovery.

True to his humanitarian spirit, Lion Foster used this difficult period not only to rebuild his own life but to uplift others. He raised funds for individuals — many of them strangers — who were facing similar hardships, offering hope, encouragement, and tangible support. His actions during this time reflect the very essence of Lionism: service, compassion, and unwavering commitment to human welfare.

Lion Foster’s distinguished service has been recognized through several honors, including the Jack Stickley Fellowship, William L. Woolard Partner In Service, Sid L. Scruggs III Beacon of Hope, and the Lacy & Esther Presnell Ambassador’s Award presented through the NC Lions VIP Fishing Tournament. These accolades reflect both his impact and his dedication to serving others.

Outside of Lions, Lion Foster enjoys collecting and trading diecast cars, a hobby that brings him joy and connection with fellow enthusiasts.

Lion Jason McNeill Foster’s life and leadership embody the spirit of Lionism—resilient, compassionate, service driven, and deeply committed to making the world a better place. As he continues his journey in district leadership, he remains a shining example of what it means to be a Lion.
