Lion Tamara (Tammy) MacLean was born and raised in Sherrills Ford, North Carolina, just three miles from Camp Dogwood. Tammy was actively involved in volunteering with youth for many years. She served church as youth leader and was actively involved with youth in County 4-H programs.
Lion Tammy is a Guiding Lion and has received a Sid L. Scruggs Ill, Beacon of Hope Fellowship Lighthouse, Sid L. Scruggs III, Beacon of Hope Steps to Service, 1st and 2nd Level of the Ambassador as well as an International President Certificate of Appreciation.
Lion Tammy is currently serving as Camp Director at Camp Dogwood which is owned by the North Carolina Lions. Here Lion Tammy coordinates a summer camp program for the Blind and Visually Impaired. This program provides each individual with activities that have been adapted to accommodate their visual impairment without limiting the individual.
